DESCRIPTION
Panama is home to 7 different indigenous groups. The Ngäbe and the Buglé collectively represent Panama’s largest indigenous group with almost 200,000 people. Together they share the territory known as Comarca Ngäbe-Buglé, with lands from the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí and Veraguas.
Nowadays the means for survival of the Ngäbe-Buglé, like other Panama Indigenous groups, are limited and their traditional ways of sustaining their families are becoming very difficult. An even greater challenge is finding a way to live in modern society without losing their unique culture and traditions.
Sustainable tourism is a way for these indigenous groups that are willing to preserve their ancestral ways of life to make a living for their families and communities through sharing with tourists, the opportunity to experience a completely unique and authentic offer. Let´s share the day with the Ngäbe community of Soloy. A true cultural encounter in Panama!
