Santa Fé – Multiday Tour

Day 1 – Transfer Panama to Santa Fe & Colonial San Francisco de Asís Church

Early in the morning we will leave Panama City by bus, traveling to the picturesque city of Santa Fe in the interior province of Veraguas. On the way we will  have lunch and visit the colonial church of San Francisco de Asis. According to the latest research, the construction of the colonial church of San Francisco was carried out between 1629 and 1630. This jewel of American Baroque style was declared a National Historic Monument on January 27, 1937, under the administration of President Juan Demóstenes Arosemena. In 1981 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Day 2 – Visit to Gallegos Monument and Mary Chong Organic Farm

The tour begins in the center of Santa Fe town where we will learn about the history of the region, including events such as the Gesta del Tute and Father Gallegos bringing the science of cooperative farming to Santa Fe.

Next, we will visit the organic farm of Mary  and Chong. Along the way, our guide will describe the cooperation between neighbors and the famous work meetings called juntas. Once at the Mary and Chong Farm, we will learn about the life of the Santa Fe peasant, his participation in cooperative and organic agriculture. After an intimate glimpse into the life of a Santafereño, we will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared on the farm. The afternoon is free to explore the community.

Day 3 – Las Golondrinas Waterfall (La Llanita)

This morning, we drive from Santa Fe town to La Llanita before reaching El Guabal. On the way we will cross the continental divide, with impressive views of the cloud forest. (30 min)

On this 40-minute walk to reach the swimming hole, we explore a tropical humid forest with views of three different waterfalls, each spectacular in its own way. Lunch is picnic style on the road. The afternoon is free to explore the community.

Day 4 – Return to Panamá

This morning you will be transferred back to Panama City.
